Evangelization

R.C.I.A. Team-
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a faith journey directed toward a closer communion with Jesus Christ through the teaching of our Holy, Catholic, Apostolic faith.
It is designed for adults of all faith levels who are interested in becoming Catholic and for
Catholics who desire a deeper understanding of our faith.
Sessions are conducted weekly on Sunday or Monday from September to April, concluding
with the Rite of Reception into the Full Communion of the Catholic Church at Mass on Easter Vigil.

Faith Sharing Group-small faith sharing group dealing with scripture and issues of faith.

Catholics Returning Home-provides an opportunity for Catholics who have been away from church to become involved again.

Education

Home & School-enlist spiritual, educational, and social resources of home and school to provide the best Catholic education to our children.

Athletic Committee-assist with coaching various girls/boys sports teams, work concessions, sell tickets, setup/cleanup at events.

Religious Education Catechist/Aide-provide Religious instruction for children pre-K to eighth grade.

Youth Ministry

Provide personal and spiritual growth opportunities for Jr. and Sr. High youth through social, service and spiritual activities. 

Youth Ministry Core Team Member-plan and present weekly LIFE Night programs.

Youth Ministry Musician-play in the  band.

Youth Ministry Choir-sing at the 11:30 am Mass.

Jr. High Youth Group Advisor/Mentor-same as above except with jr. high youth on monthly basis.

Parent Life Support-food, art & environment, affirmation & support, high school chaperone.

Family LIfe

Vacation Bible School-assists with a week-long summer adventure for pre-K through sixth grade children.

Liturgy

Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion-distribute Holy Communion at Mass.

Hospitality-setup and serve refreshments after Mass.  Great ministry for the whole family.

Lector-proclaim the Word of God at Mass.

Nursery-supervise children in nursery during weekend Mass.

Servers-serve at weekend Masses, weddings, funerals, Holy Days, etc.  For Grades 5 and up.

Usher/Greeter-welcome and assist worshipers at Mass.

Liturgy Coordinator-ensure everything and everyone is ready for assigned Mass.

Funeral Usher-available during the day, usually mornings.

Education Commission

Consultative body to the Pastor on all aspects of educational programs for Catholic School, Religious Education and Youth Ministry.

Finance Council

Appointed by Pastor after annual stewardship sign-up weekend to assist in financial matters of the parish.  

Liturgy Commission

Helps develop and plan major liturgies of the parish, particularly weekend Masses.

Pastoral Council

A consultative body to guide the parish and supervise all facets of the parish life.  

Spiritual Growth Commission

Promotes faith development of parishioners through retreats, speakers, bible studies, etc.

Stewardship Commission

Reaches out to parishioners with the message of Stewardship of Time, Talent and Treasure.

Music Ministry

Lift your voice in song through singing or playing an instrument at Mass.  Includes:

Adult Choir

Cantors

Adult Ensemble

Youth Ensemble-Grades 7-12, all instruments.

Instrumentalist-Organist, pianist, drums, etc.

 

Groups

Catholic Women's Fellowship-Organization for women of the parish to enhance the spiritual life of the parish through various fund raising and social services.

Knights of Columbus-Catholic Men's Organization established to promote family, church and community life.

VIP's-Primarily a social group for men/women 55+.  Monthly meetings at various locations.

Widow's Group-Social group for widows of the parish.

Social Services

St. Vincent de Paul- An organization of parish men and women who have joined together to help their neighbors in need.  They have dedicated themselves to visit the homes of families in need in our parish to assist them materially and spiritually.  

Welcoming-Assist with monthly welcoming program for new parishioners.

Homebound Ministry-To visit our parishioners who may be homebound and unable to attend Mass.

Hospitality for Parish Events-Volunteers who are needed to host special events.

Babysitting for Parish Events-Volunteers who are needed for special events.

Cookie Bakers for Parish Events-Provide baked goods/refreshments for special events on as needed basis.

Drive the Elderly-Provide transportation to 8:30 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday to anyone needing a ride.-provide transportation to 8:30 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday to anyone needing a ride. 

Clean Church-Work with 2 or 3 individuals on Saturday mornings to do light cleaning inside the Church. 

Decorate Church-Assist in decorating Church for holidays, change of seasons and other special events.

Elizabeth Ministries-Imitating the example of St. Elizabeth and our Blessed Mother, this outreach supports, encourages, and assists women in the special times of motherhood.

Fish Dinners-Help cook, serve, setup/cleanup, provide desserts during Friday Lenten Fish Fry.

Funeral Dinners-Help serve food, donate salads, pick-up food at the deli, make phone calls.

Parish Library-Help parishioners check out materials after Mass.

Parish Mailings-Assist in getting parish mailings ready for bulk mail on an as needed basis.

Parish Nurse Program-Offer your services for the physical well-being of parishioners.

Prayer Line-A group of people who relay prayer requests  by means of the telephone.

Respect Life- Focusing on the protection and promotion of all stages of life through prayer, education and involvement.

Scout Leaders-Lead Daisies, Brownies, or Girls Scout Troops of school/parish.

Scrip-Sell certificates after Mass once a month.  Fundraiser that benefits St. Rita School.

Stuff Bulletins-Help insert various items in weekly bulletin.  Done on Fridays.

St. Elizabeth Soup Kitchen-Serve food to the needy.

Wash Altar Linens-Assist with weekly cleaning of Altar Linens.
