homebound ministry

The Homebound Ministry has the special task of bringing Communion to the all the Catholic parishioners of our parish who are homebound and not able to attend Sunday Mass because of illness or rehabilitation from surgery. We also bring communion to all the Catholic residents in the nursing homes and assisted living facilities within our parish boundaries whether they belong to St. Rita or not. Currently, we have 41 ministers serving over 48 clients on a rotating schedule. We have 4 groups that visit the homebound each Sunday Morning after the 8:30 Mass, and each person in the group makes visits once a month. The groups consist of 11 husband and wife teams, and 19 individuals. Some of these ministers visit a homebound individual, or a resident, weekly or on an as needed basis.
