Religious Education

‘It is within the family that each person’s religious sensitivities are first called to life. love, trust, wonder, reassurance, belonging, gratitude, a growing sense of responsibility and commitment – all of these set the foundations for a religious education that will, hopefully, continue throughout life.’

The St. Rita Church community would like to make religious education a lifelong process that will guide your children into a close relationship with Jesus Christ.  Religious education can be more than formal instruction; it should become a conscious pathway to the development of the whole person as a model of Christ and permeate all facets of life in our Catholic community. The foundation can begin in the home and built in partnership within our parish community. St. Rita's catechetical mission is infused with the teachings of Jesus Christ as expressed in Catholic faith and tradition. Consider your child's religious education as a discovery of a much larger St. Rita ‘family’ where they can become part of a community in which people worship, express certain beliefs and values, and try to live their lives in a particular way.  In an increasingly secularized world where children are bombarded with mixed messages regarding values and beliefs, sharing a common understanding of the mission of our Church is paramount to the expression of an ongoing faith development.

Totus tuus

Totus Tuus is a week-long summer camp held at our parish. Our youth are invited to come and experience that they can be a faithful Catholic and still have lots of fun. Through morning “pump up,” silly skits and songs, snacks, recess, water fights, the Eucharist and so much more, Totus Tuus infuses the element of fun into this program while the youth learn about God’s love for them and the beauty of our Catholic faith! The dates for Totus Tuus 2019 were June 9-14. Stay tuned for Totus Tuus returning in the summer of 2020.
