planning meeting on Monday, June 5 at
6pm in Wahl Hall. We will be planning
summer activities and early Fall activities. All are welcome and we hope to keep the meeting to about 1 hour.

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM WEEK 2022-LIFE AND DIGNITY FOR ALL JUNE 22 TO JUNE 29

Religious freedom allows the Church, and all religious communities, to live out their faith in public and to serve the good of all. Beginning June 22, the Feast of Sts. Thomas More and John Fisher, the USCCB, invite Catholics to pray, reflect, and promote religious freedom. An additional suggestion for Reflection and action is available on the USCCB website.

Here at St. Rita, we will be praying the Patriotic Rosary every evening at 5:30 in the Rosary Garden from June 22 to June 29, including Saturday.

DAILY PRAYER SUGGESTIONS ARE;

June 22 -Walking with Moms in Need – Pray that local churches and communities will have the vision and the freedom to walk with moms in need.

June 23- Church Vandalism – Pray that Christian witnesses in the face of attacks on our churches will convert to faith in Jesus Christ.

June 24 – Adoption and Foster Care – Pray that people of faith will continue to have the freedom to serve the life-affirming ministry of adoption and foster care.

June 25 – Taxpayer Funding of Abortion – Pray that civic leaders would promote life and dignity for all.

June 26 – Religious Freedom in China – Pray for the freedom of the Church in China and that the rights of all religious minorities would be respected.

June 27 –Pregnancy Resource Centers – Pray that women facing unplanned pregnancies will continue to have access to support from people who help them choose life.

June 28 – Help Care Workers – Pray that governments will respect the consciences of all people who care for the sick and vulnerable.

June 29 – Free Speech – Pray that Christians will have the courage to proclaim the Gospel of life and dignity for all with kindness and clarity, even in the face of adversity.

PREGNANCY CARE CENTER OF ROCKFORD

THE PREGNANCY CARE CENTER OF ROCKFORD HAD ITS ANNUAL CELEBRATE LIFE BANQUET AT THE BEGINNING OF APRIL. SEVERAL ST. RITA PARISHIONERS ATTENDED THIS FUNDRAISER THAT ALSO CELEBRATED THE GROWTH OF THE CENTER IN 2021. DURING THE BANQUET, THEY SHARED A LOOKED BACK IN AWE AT THE GROWTH OF THE CENTER. SOME OF THE INSPIRING FACTS FOR 2021 ARE: 913 CLIENTS WERE SERVED; THE “STORK BUS” SERVED 62 CLIENTS IN BOONE AND WINNEBAGO COUNTY: THEY HAVE BEEN ABLE TO EXPAND THEIR HOURS TO 8 PM TWO DAYS A WEEK; THEY ARE KNOWN AS A PLACE OF CARE AND COMPASSION; THE MARKETING BUDGET HAS INCREASED FROM $5000 THE PREVIOUS YEAR TO $24,000 IN 2021; THE CENTER HAS PURCHASED 2 ADDITIONAL ULTRASOUND MACHINES; THEY HAVE ALSO BEEN ABLE TO HIRE A DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION TO WORK IN THE MIDDLE SCHOOLS AND A DIRECTOR OF MALE EDUCATION AND IS IN THE PROCESS OF ESTABLISHING A “FATHERHOOD PROGRAM. “

IT WAS ALSO SHARED PLANS CALLED A LOOK AHEAD IN WONDER, WHICH INCLUDED IMPROVED WEBSITES AND INFORMATION ON FACEBOOK (DESIGNED TO HELP FUTURE CLIENTS FIND THE PCC OF ROCKFORD); THEY HAVE BEEN APPROVED AS AN ABORTION PILL REVERSAL CENTER; PROGRAMS CALLED GRACE EMBRACE/LOVE BOXES PRAYER WARRIORS THAT ARE GROWING.
